STEAM Leaders Program
About the USL STEAM Leaders Program
The USL STEAM Leaders Program is for the tweens and teens out there (ages 11-14) looking to expand their experience in the STEM and STEAM education fields when school is not in session.
It’s no surprise to us that tweens and teens have it rough during when school is out. They are often left out of traditional camps and programs because they’ve aged out, but are still too young to hang out all day on their own. We created an experience for this age group that allowed them to grow into their independence and creativity while also supporting them with the structure and care of a traditional day camp or summer camp program.
The USL STEAM Leaders program is designed to teach our youth mentors:
how to guide and support younger kids in their ideas and designs
basic conflict resolution and collaborative peer-to-peer communication
how to safely use tools like UV lights, cardboard cutters, Exacto knives, drills, and more
