Afterschool Program - Staten Island Location

Afterschool program begins October 7th!

Urban STEAM Lab offers afterschool pick-up and care for Kindergarten through 5th grade for two of our local schools: PS018 & PS65. Students are picked up promptly at 2:20-2:30p from their schools and head directly to Urban STEAM Lab for hands-on learning, inquiry, connections, and fun. The STEAM theme changes weekly and will include topics such as oceanic science, Newton’s Laws of motion, maker challenges, light and sound, map skills, and so much more.

Daily schedule:

2:30-3p: Enjoy our walk (or bus ride) to Urban STEAM Lab and maybe collect some specimens for later viewing! Backpacks will be pulled by staff in a wagon.

3-3:15p: Brain food and water break. Snacks are provided. No peanuts allowed, if you choose to pack snack for your scientist.

3:15-4:30p: Project-based learning! We will be creating, thinking, tinkering, and investigating the theme of the week.

4:30: First pick-up time.

4:30-5:30p: Homework time! This time will be dedicated to starting and working towards completing any homework. Instructors will be available for questions and guidance.

5:30-6p: Wrap-up, unwind, and play some board games if homework is done.

6p: Extended day pick-up time.

Tuition

For 2 days/week (4:30p pick-up): $2250/school year or $250/month

For 3 days/week (4:30p pick-up): $3350/school year or $370/month

For 4 days/week (4:30p pick-up): $4400/school year or $490/month

For 5 days/week (4:30p pick-up): $5500/school year or $610/month

Extended day add-on (6:00 pick-up): $15/day

Afterschool pick-up by bus from PS65 add-on: $5/day

Other Pertinent Details (TLDR)

  • After-school will be available Monday through Friday from 2:30-4:30p with an extended day option until 6p.

  • After-school program tuition is broken up into 9 equal payments over the school year, billed monthly via payment plan on the 2nd.

  • Sibling discount of 10% total purchase.

  • Schools we will be picking up from: PS018 and PS65.

    • Drop-offs and students that self-dismiss from school are welcome.

    • There will be 2 instructors/staff present during pick-up and class time.
